Merah — red — sits at the front of every Indonesian flag. We borrowed it because everything we do is in conversation with this country: its painters, its joiners, its planners, its land. We work with Indonesian makers, on Indonesian sites, and we hold ourselves to the standards of the international institutions our artists already share rooms with.
